Hi, I’m Alicia

Founder and Therapist of Adorned with Life, LLC

I love listening to and playing music, writing songs and singing! When I get the opportunity to watch television, I enjoy anything on HGTV (especially Fixer Upper) and This is Us! As a wife and mommy, I love baking for my little family. My most recent mic dropping recipe was a 2-layer chocolate cake! I also love to read while cuddled in my favorite blanket!

My Story

Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor specializing in child, teen and young adult anxiety, depression and chronic illnesses.
Specially trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approaches.

I have a passion for working with children, teens and young adults who often feel worried and need encouragement to reach their personal goals. There is also a personal connection I have with those living through “silent illnesses” while pushing through every day as if it’s not there. After I was diagnosed with my own chronic illness – Multiple Sclerosis, I learned the importance of having someone to sit with you in the dark and uncertain moments… when you may not have all the answers or know what will happen next. I’ve been there and will make it my mission to help be that someone for you on YOUR journey.

I am also a Certified Clinical Supervisor for the state of Maryland.

I graduated from a performing arts high school in Memphis, TN in 2006. I attended the University of Memphis for my BA in Psychology (Go Tigers) and The Johns Hopkins University for my MS in Mental Health Counseling. My formal internship training was from Kennedy Krieger Institute Outpatient Psychiatry Clinic for Children and Adolescents. Since then, I received experience in the juvenile detention system, inpatient hospitals, outpatient mental health centers and the public school system. Through those venues, I earned my counseling license (LCPC) and was trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy + (CBT+).

Take your time to read through this website. If you sense that we may be a good fit based on what you are reading, you can call us.

During a free phone consultation, you can ask one of our therapists about how they have helped other people like you before, ask how they work as a therapist, or any other questions you may have that are specific-to-you. You’ll also be able to tell them what’s up, and you and one of our therapists can decide together how they can help.

It will usually take a couple of sessions to feel comfortable and develop a relationship. During the sessions, you’ll be able to understand how comfortable you feel in sessions. Our approach is not going to work for everyone. What’s most important is that you find someone who you feel is the right fit for you. We can explore that together.
